Special Note:
A free annual WMA General Use Permit (WMP) is REQUIRED to 
hunt  or trap on WMAs.  Permits are available online by clicking "Buy Licenses" at agfc.com or by Calling 800-364-4263 ext. 6359 or any regional office. 

  • RABBIT: September 1, 2019 - February 29, 2020.  Statewide bag limit. 
    See Note #1 below.
  • SQUIRREL: May 15, 2019 - February 29, 2020.  Statewide bag limit. 
    See Note #1 below.
  • TURKEY:  Fall 2019        CLOSED
                    Spring 2020    CLOSED
  • BEAR: CLOSED
  • WILD HOGS: CLOSED
  • DEER:  No dogs. 

Archery/Crossbow:  September 28, 2019 - February 29, 2020 
Archery zone closed during deer permit hunts

Muzzleloader November  20-24, 2020  (Shooting range closed)  
Modern Gun:  December 4-8, 2020   (Shooting range closed) 
Youth Modern Gun January 11-12, 2020          
 

DEER LIMITS:

  • Seasonal limit is 4 deer--No more than ONE antlered buck 
  • Limit: Muzzleloader and Modern Gun permit: One antlered buck or antlerless
  • Limit: Modern Gun Youth hunt:  Two deer - One antlered buck or antlerless


    PLEASE NOTE:

    1. Only Modern Gun and Muzzleloader deer permit holders are allowed to engage in any hunting-related activity during MG and MZ deer permit hunts. 
    2. Camping is not allowed during Modern Gun and Muzzleloader hunts.
    3. Use of two-three-four-wheeled or similar off-road motorbikes/ATV's are not permitted on the area.

      CHECK STATIONS - All deer harvested with Modern Guns or Muzzleloaders must be checked in at the Park’s Maintenance Complex on War Eagle Road near the intersection of Hwy 12 and War Eagle Road.

      Visitor safety is of the utmost importance to us. For this reason we ask that you please abide to closure advisories found in "Trail & Shooting Range Status".
