Plans for the FutureThe Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism—State Parks Division, has thoughtfully and strategically planned for the Park's improvements and utilization consistent with the Park's mission, "To provide enriching educational, and recreational experiences in harmony with resource stewardship." With the assistance of the Friends of Hobbs and others, the objective of making Hobbs a place of education and conservation is becoming a reality. Coming to Hobbs
Construction of facilities, such as the Education Pavilion adjacent to the Visitor Center, while part of the approved long-range plan for Hobbs may depend on private contributions. Other facilities planned for the future, subject in some cases to availability of additional cleared land include:
Reconstruction of the historic antebellum-era raised garden, parts of the historic mill and other key components of the Historic Van Winkle Trail site provide an opportunity to bring important Northwest Arkansas history back to life and offer another opportunity for giving. Upon approval of the Arkansas Department of State Parks, donors may be recognized and identified with certain facilities.
